Changing Logo of Facebook and Johnson&Johnson

If everyone is ready, we’re taking off with Edda Creative’s first newsletter post 🥳

Today’s topic is “changing logos of Facebook and J&J”.

In this article, we wanted to discuss the subtle changes in logo redesigns that we have been observing frequently in two important brands lately which are Facebook and Johnson&Johnson. Those two brands are known by their iconic logos therefore a change was not forecasted for the logos. However even though these changes were made in little detail, the two massive brands decided on changing logos.

What are these “changes” in logos?

Recently, Johnson & Johnson announced a change in its longest-standing logo, representing two separate companies. J&J will continue to represent the pharmaceutical and medical sector. Meanwhile the second company “Kenvue” will take a different approach and focus on the customers. The new logo continues with the use of the color red, emphasizing the healthcare sector and the ability to respond quickly. Additionally, each letter in the updated logo has been reshaped with a single stroke of the pen.

In recent days, Meta also announced an update to Facebook’s logo. Although it may not look very different at first glance, the color transition from light to dark in the old logo has been replaced by a single color that can be perceived as more minimal.

So why are these changes important? 🧐

In fact, we can say that the underlying reason for the “small” changes in logos even years later is to attract attention in the competitive environment by adapting to the changing and evolving era.se Attracted customers mean more profit margin for these companies. Because of that reason, companies in competition should continuously update themselves to be not forgotten. On the other hand, these changes also ensures a refreshing connection between the consumer and the brand, thereby keeping the brand up to date and up to the standards of the customers. To sum up, even though the changes are small, they make big impacts which can drive attention to the brand.

Wishing everyone a great week, see you in next week’s newsletter of Edda Creative!
