SIREXE 2026 in Abidjan: a guide to the African Mining, Oil, Gas and Energy Exhibition
SIREXE (Salon international des ressources extractives et de l’énergie), marketed in English as the African Mining, Oil, Gas and Energy Exhibition, takes place for the second time from 18 to 22 November 2026 at the Parc des Expositions in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. It brings mining, oil and gas, and energy together in a single five-day event.
For mining equipment suppliers, energy developers, engineering and construction firms, logistics providers and investors looking at West and Central Africa, SIREXE has quickly become a date in the calendar. With three weeks to go, here are the official facts and a practical way to prepare.
SIREXE 2026 at a glance
- Dates and venue: 18–22 November 2026, Parc des Expositions d’Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
- Host: Côte d’Ivoire’s Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Energy, under the high patronage of President Alassane Ouattara; Minister Mamadou Sangafowa-Coulibaly chairs the steering committee. The event is run by the private company 2A Consulting.
- Theme: “Extractive and energy industries: what infrastructure is needed to support economic development in Africa?”
- Guest of honour: Botswana. A memorandum of understanding on mining and energy between Côte d’Ivoire and Botswana is due to be signed during the event.
- Participation: According to the official website, more than 30 countries are expected. According to the organiser, 31 ministerial delegations are expected from four African regions: 16 from West Africa, 9 from Central Africa and 3 each from North and Southern Africa.
- Programme: High-level conferences, expert panels, B2B meetings, technology exhibitions, networking and a new “Zone Pro” for exchanges between the public and private sectors.

The organiser’s promotional material lists the following expected African countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, the Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Senegal, Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Cameroon, the Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Algeria, Tunisia, Niger, Nigeria, Chad and Egypt.
The first edition in numbers
SIREXE was launched in Abidjan in 2024. According to the official website, the first edition brought together more than 350 exhibitors, more than 2,200 professional participants, more than 50,000 visitors, 22 ministerial delegations and more than 150 national and international media outlets, with contracts worth 4,000 billion CFA francs (around €6 billion) signed (SIREXE). This year, Hall 2, dedicated to cleantech and mining technology, is reported to be three times larger than in 2024 (Sika Finance).
Where SIREXE fits in Africa’s event calendar
Until 2024, the continent’s main extractive and energy events were concentrated in Cape Town. SIREXE fills a November slot between African Energy Week and African Mining Week (12–16 October 2026) and Mining Indaba (8–11 February 2027), followed by Africa Energy Indaba (2–4 March 2027). SIREXE combines mining, oil and gas, and energy in a single programme and is positioned as a hub for West Africa and the French-speaking world (Sika Finance).
For companies planning their 2027 Africa budget, that makes SIREXE a useful first meeting point: conversations and relationships started in Abidjan in November can be followed up in Cape Town in February.
Why Côte d’Ivoire?
The Fraser Institute’s 2025 survey ranks Côte d’Ivoire first in West Africa and fifth in Africa for mining investment attractiveness. In oil and gas, the Baleine field was discovered in September 2021, and 19 production sharing contracts have been signed, with 13 more under negotiation (AllAfrica). Minister Sangafowa-Coulibaly sums up the goal as moving from resource extraction to “a truly industrialised sector”.
That ambition translates into demand for infrastructure, power generation, mine services, logistics and local supply chains, which is exactly the focus of this year’s theme.
Programme highlights
- Opening conference: historian and economist Daniel Yergin (S&P Global, CERAWeek) and economist Philippe Chalmin, founder and chair of Cercle CyclOpe, will discuss geopolitical tensions and international logistics in oil and gas (AIP).
- Local content and SME sessions (19 November): sessions on access for African SMEs to extractive markets, fair competition between national suppliers and bringing young people into the sector (Fratmat).
- National pavilions: France, for example, is organising an Espace France with B2B meetings targeting mines, quarries and cement plants (Team France Export). With national pavilions and ministerial delegations in the mix, it pays to think early about how your company will stand out.
Checklist for exhibitors and visitors
- Language: French is the official language of Côte d’Ivoire. SIREXE is presented as a bilingual French–English event, but a French presentation, product sheet and business card make a real difference in meetings with public bodies and local companies.
- Local content: Increasing the share of local companies in large projects is a clear priority. Show not only your product but also local partnerships, training, service and spare-parts support.
- Standards and references: Major operators look closely at quality, safety and performance standards. Lead with certifications, reference projects in similar conditions and your service network.
- Meetings: Ministerial delegations and large operators have full agendas. Contact the organisations you want to meet now and follow the B2B platform and conference programme.
- Practicalities: Check travel and visa requirements through Côte d’Ivoire’s official channels, and be ready for questions on pricing in the local currency, the West African CFA franc (XOF).
- Follow-up: Write up meeting notes the same week and start thank-you messages and proposals within 48 hours. Our article ‘Are trade fairs still worth it?’ looks at how to judge the return.
